How Long Does It Take To Publish A Video To Youtube Through Imovie?

I made a video through iMovie and chose the option to publish it to YouTube directly from iMovie. I completed all the steps and loading, but it is not on YouTube yet.
How long will it take until it is viewable on YouTube? Thank you.

This is a quote from YouTube Help:
    “Learn More: Video processing time
Processing time varies greatly depending on the format of your original video, file size and upload traffic. This could take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.
If after 8 hours you still see a status message next to the video saying “Uploaded (processing, please wait)”, try removing the video from our site and uploading it again. To do this, simply click the “Remove Video” button below the video in question in “My Videos” and go through the full uploading process again.
Make sure that your video is under 10 minutes in length. We accept most video file formats, including .wmv, .mov, .mpg or .avi. If your video meets these minimum requirements and still won’t upload, there may be a problem with the video compression you’re using. We recommend the MPEG4 format at 640 x 480 resolution, with MP3 audio. ”

    Generally speaking a few hours.
If you have trouble with the direct upload from iMovie, watch this tutorial.
I use this method all the time with great rtesults.

well sometimes when i upload a video to youtube from imovie .. it doesn’t show up at all :(
so here’s what i do instead:
i open imovie and select the option for exporting it using quicktime
then i go to youtube and click the button for uploading a video
and when it tells me to select a file.. i choose the movie that was exported using quicktime.
    hope this helps !! ^^ ~

Youtube takes time to process new videos. It should be about an hour or so (sometimes much longer) before your video is “Live!” and searchable on youtube.

It shouldn’t take any longer than uploading normally. It really just depends on the length of the video.

  • Fufufu:

Depends on how long the movie is. For me, it’s usually 15 min – 1 hr.

  • Ben:

I don’t know. Could you tell me how to use imovie.
