I want to rip a DVD and make a video
by using certain scenes from it.
I was also planning on putting it on Youtube.
I wasn’t sure whether that is legal or not,
so could someone help me, please?

Technically speaking, it is illegal, but youtube won’t do anything besides remove the video. And even then, the company that produced and distributed the movie would have to ask them to remove it (e.g. viacom).
