What Can People Do To Prevent Submission Of Copyrighted Materials On Youtube?

Author: I know one answer is obvious… don’t upload copyrighted materials on youtube! Right now, when we flag a video because it is copyright infringed, we do not have the option to flag it as that. Youtube refuses to remove a video unless a company submits a request to remove the video but there are companies that have submitted such a request but youtube do not remove most or all of their videos because there are too many videos to keep up with. What can people do to help youtube other than not submitting copyrighted materials?

Well I tried to upload “Back To The Future 2 Part One” on youtube, but it was rejected because of a copyright claim. You can’t get suspended for doing this.
You can br suspended for uploading sexual, violent videos and copyrighted stuff that is removed several days after being uploaded.
YouTube don’t give a damn about copyright infringement.
They may say they do, but that’s because they know they have to say that to avoid being sued.
Copyright infringement is the entire basis for YouTube’s site, without it they would lose three quarters of their traffic immediately.
Most people don’t film their own stuff and put it there, they steal other people’s stuff and put it there.
And YouTube know that and in fact rely on it to build their site.
If you post your material ANYWHERE on the web at all or sell it in any format then it is open to being stolen and re-posted on YouTube…regardless of weather you ever put it there yourself.
You can demand YouTube remove copyright material but they do make you jump through hoops before they comply.
They hope you will go away and stop bothering them.
You have to stick at them and don’t accept anything they say, threaten legal action and demand they comply with the law and they will remove it.
They know they have to and that they would lose any court case, you simply have to convince them you mean it.
I don’t think youtube can really cope. Look at all these big websites (ebay,yahoo,facebook) who have so many complaints but they can’t handle them all unless the lawyers get involved lol.
