I am having the same difficulties. A lot of the things that used to work do not anymore.
Got the same problem, but can’t find any mention of any changes YouTube have made to prevent the grabbing of videos. You would think that if they had managed to stop people from nicking the content, they would be waving a bloody flag about it saying how clever they are.
Fact is, YouTube existed in the first place due to people uploading their content to SHARE with the world. Now that the networks are jumping in and slapping copyrights on stuff, I guess YouTube have been forced to implement some security to protect the big boys content. It’s just a pity that the stuff that the big boys don’t own is also blocked by these measures. How can you deny users the right to download content when the content does not belong to you in the first place? Funny how quickly a company will change its tune when put under pressure from a larger company.
Comical how quickly their “information wants to be free” ethos became “let’s bite the corporate pillow”.
Just another clear sign of the suits ruining what was once a revolutionary concept and system. That’s what they do everywhere they go. It’s their nature and their purpose. The bane of their existence…. to sanitize, regulate and generally stifle anything which attempts to decrease the value of their share portfolios or ruffle the feathers of their stakeholders and CEO’s.
A mob of b*stards, essentially.
Anyway, sit tight, because as we all know, whatever can be engineered can be reverse-engineered, and whatever can be coded can be decoded. This protection won’t last forever. Give it a couple of weeks, and it will be little more than a memory.
Cheers !!
